Google Place ID Finder

Paste a Google Maps place URL (or open from the Place ID Finder extension) to extract the Google Place ID. No signup, no Places API key.

  1. Open the business on Google Maps.
  2. Copy the full URL from the address bar — or use the Place ID Finder extension button.
  3. Paste it above to extract the Place ID (derived from the Maps hex pair when needed).

Prefer one-click from Maps? Install the free Place ID Finder Chrome extension.

This tool reads or derives Place ID from the URL you paste. It does not search by business name. Prefer pulling every ID at once? Maps ID Extractor also returns CID and KG ID.

Place ID is buried in Maps URLs—until you need it yesterday

Review links, QR codes, APIs, and agency SOPs all start with a Place ID. Digging through Maps share links or Places API consoles slows every onboarding ticket.

Who it's for

Local SEO & reputation teams

Pull Place IDs to build review request links and QR campaigns.

Developers & integrators

Grab Place IDs for Maps embeds, APIs, and internal tooling without a key for simple URL parses.

Agency ops

Standardize client intake: paste Maps URL, copy Place ID into the CRM.

Use cases

Review link setup

Extract Place ID, then generate a writereview URL or QR in the sibling tools.

Client onboarding

Convert the Maps URL the client sent into a stable Place ID for your docs.

Extension deep-links

Open from GMB Audit Tool workflows that already prefill IDs when available.

How it works

1

Copy a Maps URL

Open the business on Google Maps or Search and copy the place URL.

2

Paste into the finder

Drop the URL (or hex pair) into the field and read the extracted Place ID.

3

Use it downstream

Copy the Place ID into Review Link, Review QR, Link Pack, or your own stack.

What you get

  • Extract Place ID from Maps or Search URLs without a Places API key
  • Often surfaces CID and related fields when present in the link
  • One-click path into review and link tools
  • Works with extension deep-links when IDs are precomputed
  • Free and private—parsing runs in your session

FAQ

Do I need a Google API key?

No. This tool parses IDs from URLs you paste. It does not call the Places API on your behalf.

What if Place ID is missing from the URL?

Some short links or incomplete URLs omit the ID. Open the full place page on Maps, copy that URL, or try Maps ID Extractor / Basic Audit.

Is Place ID the same as CID?

No. Place ID (e.g. ChIJ…) identifies the place for many Google APIs and writereview links. CID is a different numeric identifier used in some Maps URLs.

Run audits on Google Maps

Install GMB Audit Tool to pull Place ID, CID, categories, reviews, and competitor scans without copy-paste.
